Questions & Answers

I’d rather bag it up for you, a tonne bag of wood is a very variable quantity, it could be 0.6m3 or 0.8m3. by bagging it I get to quality control what you get.

15 of my bags are around the same volume as a  loose meter cubed.

I try to keep prices as low as possible so it will vary depending on what the price i bought the last load of logs in at

NO. Hardwood is hard to get in this part of the Highlands, I can get it but it would be cost-prohibitive and, to be honest, unnecessary in a stove where air flow can be controlled. In an open fireplace or if you are cooking directly over it then yes hardwood is a good idea

The only relationship between firewood and creosote is excess moisture content and therefore lower combustion temperature, it does not matter if its hardwood or softwood, if its wet you’ll have a problem building in your chimney.

Kiln dried wood

Kiln dried wood can be seen as an expensive option, but in reality when you take into account the reduce fuel used and the cleanness of the burn it soon adds up to savings.
